Life Shared is a great tool and resource to use after Alpha as a way to move intentional disciples to be missionary disciples – to go out and evangelize, sharing the gospel message of God’s love.

There are three small group sessions to encourage and equip everyone in the church to share their faith. Through Biblical teaching from leading Christian voices and real stories of invitation, each session explores what it means to live out God’s call to share our lives and our faith with friends, colleagues and neighbours.

This is a great opportunity for all who have journeyed through Alpha previously.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a place to explore the Christian faith with others. It is a series of sessions focused on questions of life, faith, and meaning. Each session includes time to connect, watch a talk on video, and share any thoughts or questions you have.

Over 1 million people in Canada have experienced Alpha, and millions more have taken Alpha in over 100 countries and over 100 languages around the globe.

Alpha is a way to inspire and equip churches to create a space where people from any background can encounter Jesus. The same Alpha content is run all over the world, by Christians of all traditions, and provides a common expression of faith

What does an Alpha Session look like?

Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick online catch-up, times of connecting are important. It’s no different at Alpha. Whether in person over a meal or virtually with a cup of tea, all sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships.

The Alpha talks are designed to engage people from all walks of life and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”

The discussion time is an opportunity for people to respond to the talk, hear from others, and contribute their own perspective in an honest, friendly, and open environment.

Inviting Others

If you want to invite a friend, family member or neighbour to church, small group or Alpha, whether online or in person, you may wonder how do I get them to actually connect?

And on a more personal level, What if they say no? What if they ask questions that I’m not prepared to answer? How will my invitation impact our relationship?

With Alpha, we know that historically 80% of guests have come on because someone has invited them. It was a real conversation with a real person that made a real difference. The best invitations are rooted in relationships, but here are some practical steps.
